About Mrs. StraubI am in my third year teaching at Milan Middle School and couldn't be more thrilled! I have known my entire life that I would become a teacher and to be back in the small town where it all started for me is truly a blessing. Formerly Ms. Splitt; I got married to my wonderful husband, Mike Straub, this summer on Lake Michigan! I attended Eastern Michigan University to obtain my bachelors degree and secondary (grades 6-12) teaching certificate in mathematics and psychology. I am currently attending Concordia University to obtain my Masters Degree in K-12 Administration.
The photo to the left is a small portion of the amazing Class of 2020 kids. Those are the Milan Middle School 2015 8th grade volleyball team players that worked so hard with me over the summer and fall to become stellar student athletes. I love being a part of team sports, I think being a student athlete teaches kids many lessons that cannot be learned just in the classroom. That is why I also have taken on the opportunity to be the middle school athletic liaison. It allows me to have a different relationship with my students, and also start a relationship with younger kids that I will see in the upcoming years. I am so fortunate to be teaching your child; I hope that he or she enjoys working with me this year! Go Big Reds! |
